Sometimes, what a space or purpose calls for simply isn’t available ready-made. The proportions may be wrong, the materials unsuitable, or the character at odds with the aesthetic being created.
FG Bespoke exists to resolve that gap by creating distinctive, considered pieces that belong in their setting, invite conversation, and hold enduring personal significance.
What
Specialising in side tables
A place for coffee, wine, a phone, a favourite book—or perhaps cheese and crackers. Side tables may be modest in scale, but they are used often, seen closely, and can make a meaningful contribution to the character of a space.
FG Bespoke creates distinctive side tables with individuality, material character, and a clear connection to their setting.
While side tables are our primary focus, we also create other furniture and objects and welcome conversations about particular needs.
Process
Designed to honour both client and material. From first conversation to ongoing care, each piece is shaped through a considered progression of listening, exploring, transforming, belonging and maintaining.
Listen
Understanding the client, the context, the intended use, preferred materials, and the story the object is to carry, establishing the intent that guides the piece.
Explore
The understanding developed through listening is translated into models that refine form, material selection, proportions, construction methods, and detailing, bringing function, aesthetics, and practicality into alignment.
Transform
Materials are shaped in response to the design intent developed through exploration, combining modern methods with time-honoured craft. Through the making, the character and significance of the materials are revealed.
Belong
The finished piece finds its place, becoming part of the client’s setting, routines, and story. It is made to be used, appreciated, and lived with, carrying the quiet distinction of a considered, bespoke object.
Maintain
The relationship between client and maker continues beyond delivery. Feedback is invited, and ongoing care and refinement help the piece fulfil its original intent while retaining its presence, vibrance, and significance over time.
Materials
Each material carries its own character, history, properties, and possibility. Selectively sourced with care, often through considerable physical effort, this collection showcases materials available for future pieces, with provenance documented wherever possible, inviting imagination around what might be.

Each finished piece represents the resolution of intent and making. Together, they show how carefully sourced materials, considered design, and skilled workmanship come together as functional forms with presence, provenance, and lasting meaning.
Getting it right begins with a shared understanding of intent. Design and exploration establish the direction, but making can reveal constraints and opportunities that only emerge as the piece takes shape. When they matter, we consider the path forward together, keeping you part of the journey when your perspective can meaningfully shape the outcome.
Some processes cannot — and should not — be hurried. The time required will vary with the piece, its complexity, the materials involved, and what is learned along the way.
A bespoke commission is as much about the journey of creating something together as it is about the piece that ultimately emerges. From the outset, we will give you a sense of the likely pace rather than impose a fixed schedule. Ideas can continue to develop through making, and unnecessary deadlines can close off possibilities before they have had time to fully emerge. A few extra weeks — or even months — can be a small thing in the life of a piece intended to be lived with for years, perhaps even handed down through generations.
